Building Integrity
Integrity means doing the right thing even when no one is watching. In this module, you’ll learn why honesty builds trust with employers and coworkers.
INTEGRITY
What it means: Doing what’s right, even when it’s hard
Why it matters: People trust you, you trust yourself
Daily practice: Keep your word, own your mistakes, stay true to your values
REAL SITUATIONS:
• AT WORK: Tell your boss about the mistake before they find out
• WITH FAMILY: Follow through on promises to your kids
• WITH FRIENDS: Don’t talk behind someone’s back
• WITH YOURSELF: Be honest about what you need to change
Real Life Use Case
What it looks like:
- Telling the truth when a lie would be easier
- Doing quality work when no one is checking
- Standing up for what's right, even when you're alone
What it sounds like:
- "I made a mistake and here's how I'll fix it"
- "That doesn't feel right to me"
- "I gave you my word, so I'll make it happen"
What it feels like:
- Hard at first (because doing right isn't always easy)
- Peaceful over time (because you sleep well at night)
- Strong (because you know who you are)
Red flags - when you're NOT showing integrity:
- Making promises you can't keep
- Cutting corners when you think no one will notice
- Saying one thing and doing another
