HOPE for Prisoners is excited to announce our Tues HOPE for Prisoners is excited to announce our Tuesday night Huddle Up from 6-7:30pm PST, Jan 12, 2021. We are honored to have motivational speaker, Tiki Davis joining us to share his story of overcoming challenges to journey from the streets to the stage!
Tiki lived in foster homes for much of his early life, had brushes with the law, and as a 17-year-old on the brink of high school football stardom, found himself behind bars, facing a possible lengthy prison sentence. He endured the adversity, attended Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas, receiving a Bachelor’s degree (2003) and a Master’s degree two years later. He earned a speaking role in the acclaimed motion picture, “Friday Night Lights,” and through the experience, developed a lasting friendship with actor Julius Tennon, and his wife, Emmy- and Oscar-winning actress Viola Davis. Through the years, he became a mentor to boys and young men, telling of his trek through adversity and stressing the potential benefits of positive choices and good judgment. One of his mentees recently graduated from Harvard.
Using engineering experience gained in the West Texas oil fields, he started his own successful consulting business, and interests in real estate, residential construction and two successful barbecue restaurants. He was honored by the Odessa Chamber of Commerce one year, then was named Black Entrepreneur of the Year the next.
Please join us via Facebook Live to hear how Tiki came from spending time behind bars to becoming a millionaire before the age of 35. Hear his heartfelt story of feeling unfulfilled in spite of his success until he surrendered his life to Christ. You will be sure to leave the Huddle feeling motivated and equipped with tools to overcome and conquer your own challenges.
