As HOPE for Prisoners continues our efforts to change the face of Reentry, September 26, 2023, will go down in our great state’s history as a day that the power of collaboration was on full display. Bringing the much-needed resources to incarcerated men and women will tremendously enhance their ability to live productive lives after paying their debts to society. This is why in the pre and post Reentry arena HOPE for Prisoners is the home of the Comeback Kids. Next stop Southern Desert Corrections Center, with the HOPE for Prisoners Vocational Village:

A new EmployNV Career Hub embedded within a State of Nevada Department of Corrections transitional housing facility will make it easier than ever for incarcerated individuals to reenter the workforce and our community successfully.
In a first-of-its-kind partnership with Hope for Prisoners and the Nevada Department of Corrections, the EmployNV Career Hub at Casa Grande Transitional Housing will provide onsite one-on-one career coaching to those living at the facility, vocational training or other #educational options, supportive services and #employment help.
“By providing the support of an EmployNV Career Hub within our walls, we are fast-tracking employment opportunities for our residents,” said James Dzurenda, Nevada Department of Corrections Director. “We know the reentry population represents an untapped labor pool for employers seeking qualified help. This partnership is a win-win for our state.”
Career coaches and job developers from HOPE for Prisoners will staff the EmployNV Career Hub, an American Job Center of Nevada, thanks to federal funds by the U.S. Department of Labor awarded through Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation to Workforce Connections, Southern Nevada’s Local Workforce Development Board.
