The numbers are in! 🙌 The COVID-19 pandemic eff The numbers are in! 🙌 The COVID-19 pandemic effected every aspect of our lives in 2020- changing how we lived, worked and engaged with our family, clients and community. HOPE for Prisoners was deemed essential and adapted quickly to continue to deliver critical services to our at-risk clientele. Check out our Impact Report for 2020 and some the amazing work we were able to do!! Excited and already working hard for 2021! 💙
Florence McClure is known as “Hurricane Flo” b Florence McClure is known as “Hurricane Flo” because of her tireless efforts to improve conditions for women in the state of Nevada.

Her advocacy for women in the state lead to improvements for the female prisoners, improved police-community relations and better investigation of sex crimes.

McClure lobbied to locate the women’s prison near Clark County, allowing the prisoners to be closer to their children.

In 2007, the state legislature voted to rename the prison in her honor.

We couldn’t think of anyone better to honor first for Women’s History Month! 💙
HOPE for Prisoners, Tuesday Night “Huddle Up” HOPE for Prisoners, Tuesday Night “Huddle Up” is TONIGHT! 6 pm- 7:30 pm PST, via Zoom or live on HFP’s Facebook page. We’re honored to have our friend and JLUSA colleague (class of 2019) Marcus Bullock joining us as our guest speaker. Marcus is the CEO and Founder at Flikshop, which was built to be the tech company that helps families connect to their incarcerated loved ones. Users are able to take a picture, add some quick text, press send, and for 99 cents, Flikshop prints and ships that picture and text on a real tangible postcard that is shipped to any person in any prison anywhere in the United States. Flikshop has connected over 170,000 registered users so far and has shipped over a half a million postcards. That represents over a half million pieces of love. Marcus started Flikshop as a result of being sentenced to eight years in an adult maximum-security prison as a 15-year-old kid after he had stolen a car from a man in a shopping mall parking lot. His mother didn’t want him to fall into a bed of hopelessness so she began to write him letters and send photos while he was incarcerated, which he attributes as the singular reason that kept him alive and got him through. And now data and research shows that family connectivity is the largest factor towards successful reentry after release. Marcus, through Flikshop, wanted to ensure that folks around the world had the opportunity to be able to have that same kind of connection, and as a result he has made an incredible impact on the lives of inmates and their families across the nation. #reimaginingReentry #prisondoors #exitonly
