LAS VEGAS, NV January 30, 2025 – HOPE for Prisoners (HFP), a Nevada-based nonprofit providing formerly incarcerated people with long-term support and services, announced today the appointment of Glenn Martin to its Board of Directors.

For over 20 years, Glenn E. Martin founded and led national, multi-million-dollar nonprofits, combining visionary leadership with expertise in fundraising, operations, and communications.

He is the founder of JustLeadershipUSA, dedicated to halving the U.S. correctional population by 2030—a tribute to his son, Joshua. His advocacy work has earned prestigious honors, including the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award and Echoing Green Fellowship. Glenn is also a founding member of the Council on Criminal Justice and the visionary behind NYC’s #CLOSErikers campaign. Before founding and leading JustLeadershipUSA and the #CLOSErikers Campaign, Glenn was Vice President at The Fortune Society, where he founded the David Rothenberg Center for Public Policy. He also co-directed the National HIRE Network and co-founded the Education from the Inside Out Coalition. Today, he founded and leads GEMrealestate and GEMtrainers, blending real estate investment with nonprofit consultancy. A sought-after public speaker, Glenn has appeared on NPR, CNN, Fox News, and more.

Glenn Martin states “Whether it’s circumstance or hardship that leaves someone at the bottom of a dark well, the journey back requires more than resilience—it requires an extended hand. Jon Ponder, along with the dedicated staff and volunteers at Hope for Prisoners, embodies that hand—offering skill development, mentorship, and opportunity to those seeking a new path forward. Their work is a testament to the power of redemption, the dignity of every individual, and the unwavering strength of the human spirit.”

“Glenn has been a great friend to HOPE for Prisoners for many years.  His lived experience and his heart to support the population that we serve makes it a privilege to have him on the team”, said Jon Ponder founder and CEO of HOPE for Prisoners.
