HOPE for Prisoners Welcomes Jeff Colton to Board of Directors

LAS VEGAS, NV August 14, 2023 – HOPE for Prisoners (HFP), a Nevada-based nonprofit providing formerly incarcerated people with long-term support and services, announced today the appointment of Jeff Colton to its Board of Directors.

As President of The Walters Group, under the direction of its Founder and Chairman Bill Walters, Mr. Colton is responsible for planning, operations, and execution across a wide range of holdings and activities including real estate, golf course ownership, auto dealerships, philanthropy, and a mix of public and private investments. Prior to joining The Walters Group, Mr. Colton was the CEO of two different consumer products companies, leading them each through restructuring, revitalization, and successful exits on behalf of their private-equity owners. He began his career at Callaway Golf and spent 18 years there, starting as a Research Analyst within the R&D & Testing function and ending as Senior Vice President of Global Brand & Product.

Jeff Colton states “I am proud to join the HFP Board of Directors as representative for philanthropists Bill and Susan Walters, and look forward to contributing to the program’s ongoing success and growth.  Shaped by Mr. Walters’ own incarceration time and experience, our commitment to improving and supporting the HFP program in its mission to improve re-entry success and the betterment of society runs deeply.  We stand behind and in support of those lucky individuals who seize the amazing second chance that the Hope for Prisoners program provides.”

“Jeff has been a great friend to our organization, and we are honored that he’s officially joining us,” said Jon Ponder founder and CEO of HOPE for Prisoners. “As we grow and expand our successful reentry programs and services, Jeff’s expertise and skills will complement our Board of Directors and be invaluable to our mission.”
